Linking to the Micah Challenge UK website
Background
Your participation in Micah Challenge is greatly appreciated and valued. You are part of a growing movement here in the UK as well as globally. Each month there is additional momentum as new members join the Council of Reference, or as Advocates and participants join in this coalition for compassion.
Every organisation, group or individual who joins the movement is asked to demonstrate their support in a number of ways. One such demonstration is the cross-linking of websites – yours to Micah Challenge UK and Micah Challenge UK to yours.
Request
That you link your site to the Micah Challenge site following the guidelines detailed below.
Scope
The scope of this document is to give details of the Micah Challenge logo(s) and guidelines on how they should be incorporated into other websites.
It also covers the need to have text links in addition to the logos being linked.
Logo(s)
There are two Micah Challenge logos one vertical and one horizontal. The main Micah Challenge logo is vertical; however this is not always convenient on websites so the horizontal logo can also be used. We would ask that you use one or the other but not both.
These logos should be stored on the third party’s server and not linked from the Micah Challenge UK website, as this will unduly increase bandwidth on a single site.
The images, size guidelines and html code are included in Appendix A.
Links to us
Every time a logo is used it should be linked to www.micahchallenge.org.uk with an ‘alt’ tag of ‘Micah Challenge UK’ and if possible the ‘a’ tag should also have a ‘title’ tag of ‘Micah Challenge UK’. In addition we request that there will also be a text link to this address on the same page (with the same title tag).
The exceptions to this are when you are linking directly to “Getting involved” http://www.micahchallenge.org.uk/takeaction/join.htm or “Blow the Whistle” http://www.micahchallenge.org.uk/btw/
We request that all links to the Micah Challenge UK website be a maximum of 2 ‘clicks’ away from your ‘index’ page and if possible no more than 2 ‘clicks’ away from every other page on your website.
Please note there is an international site (www.micahchallenge.org). Do not inadvertently link to this site
Text description about us
We hope that you adapt and contextualise any wording on your site which relates to Micah Challenge or its campaigns. Where you use some text to explain why you are linking to our site, wording can be drawn from our site or you can use the following:-
We support the aims of Micah Challenge - a global movement of Christians that aims to ignite and fuel a passion to bring about the alleviation of poverty and to speak out, with a common voice, against the injustices of poverty. It is already uniting countries in the North and South to call their governments to account to realise the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), halving poverty by 2015.
Micah Challenge UK dreams of uniting One Million Christians, to take One Hundred Thousand Steps, to speak out with One Single Voice against the injustices of poverty.
We are backing Micah Challenge and are part of the million speaking out for justice.
On a regular basis we also hope to update this, for example as a campaign moves into a new phase. We will send out the core text for you to use/adapt appropriately as you choose.
Using your logo
We would like to place your logo on our site in addition to your name and where appropriate to have a link on our site to your site directing users to resources in your organisation that are relevant to the work of Micah challenge. Where this is the case please advise us where you wish our link to you to go to. Please also send your logo to us for inclusion
If you have a campaigning page then please do provide us with your preferred link as we will hope to use this on our campaigning pages.
