Charles Badenoch
Charles Badenoch has been the Chief Executive of World Vision UK since October 2003. A qualified accountant, Charles worked for more than 15 years in a multi-cultural and multi-site business environment and has had more than 10 years general management experience in technology and telecommunications, primarily in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Charles is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and speaks French. He spent a number of years working in Paris with technology company Equant, before moving to Xerox as General Manager for the European Network Services business. After leaving Xerox in 2000, he worked as a consultant with venture capital companies and used his coaching skills to help companies through change.
Charles first saw the effects of poverty when he worked as a volunteer in the Democratic Republic of Congo (then Zaire) after leaving school. He has also worked as a volunteer with homeless people and the mentally handicapped.
He is married with two teenage sons and lives in Benson, Oxfordshire, where he is an active member of his local Anglican church.
