Change is brought about by ordinary people when they come together to stand behind a cause. No-one is better placed to do this than the church. The church crosses every cultural, national, ethnic and linguistic boundary and unites hundreds of millions of people around the world. But we face a huge task; global poverty affects over a billion people globally and is entrenched in the systems, structures and institutions of our world. To fight it the church worldwide must come together to demand that justice be done.

Micah Challenge UK works in partnership with churches and organisations to reawaken the UK church to its biblically mandated, prophetic role in fighting the injustice of global poverty. We want to reach and mobilise as many Christians as possible, Christians of all denominations, and bring them together to pray for justice, to commit to living lives which remember the poor and to urge our leaders to do the same.

At the moment only a fraction of the UK church is involved in campaigning. We know that people are far more likely to get involved in Micah Challenge if they hear about it from a source they know and trust, and we know that churches and organisations have networks of members and supporters that may not be aware of Micah Challenge. We also know that churches and organisations have expertise and resources which are invaluable to the growing Micah Challenge movement. So we would like you to join us in standing against the injustice of extreme poverty.

The Micah movement is growing and gathering momentum all around the world. If you share our vision to stand against the injustice of extreme poverty then we would love you to join us.

What does it mean to be a Member Organisation?

Joining Micah Challenge is much more than signing a declaration: it is not a passive gesture but an act of participation. By joining Micah Challenge you are saying that you support and share our vision and that you are ready to stand alongside others who do the same.

Joining the Micah Challenge UK coalition usually means:

• Allowing Micah Challenge to use your name
• Agreeing to use your influence to promote the objects of Micah Challenge
• Agreeing to use your channels to promote the work of Micah Challenge
• Agreeing to contribute resources such as staff expertise and materials
• Agreeing to make a financial contribution to help sustain the work of Micah Challenge.

Micah Challenge UK provides membership organisations with materials, resources and information to support them in doing these things and makes every effort to provide profile to its membership organisations as part of the coalition.
