Action through giving financially
Taking action can be standing up, speaking out and praying hard.
Taking action can also be contributing financially to support the aims we seek to bring about.
Currently Micah Challenge UK is funded by its member agencies. Our work could not be done without their financial support.
Micah Challenge UK does not seek to set itself up as an independent organisation. We are a coalition, a movement of like-minded people and organisations, who have come together to help engage and enable more churches and more Christians to speak out and take action against the injustice of poverty. So our hope is that Christians across the UK will be made aware of the injustice of poverty through Micah Challenge UK and then engage more deeply with the work of our member agencies - they are the ones that are working directly to make a difference on the ground.
For this reason we would encourage you first to consider sending your financial support to one or more of our member agencies.
Some of you have specifically asked to cover the costs of Micah Challenge UK’s operations – for example mailings and the development of our materials. This would be a great help, although please do also consider supporting our member agencies!
We are part of the global Micah Challenge movement, and as a commitment to this international group, any monies we receive as donations will be split as follows. 30% will be given to support the international movement through one or more of the Southern national Micah Challenge offices – they are typically under great pressure, with very few financial resources. The remaining 70% will contribute towards the direct costs of our work here in the UK.
